“We love him because he first loved us.”

1 John 4:19

When we see stagnant water, what does it look like? When it rains, the water in a brook looks fresh and clean, and as a matter of fact, may look so appealing to be drunk. With each passing second turning into minutes, minutes into hours, and hours into days, the quality of the stored brook water gets depreciated: the surface becomes attracted to dust carried by the wind, and flies and other insects soon perch on it for a drink, and sooner, gets accumulated with specks of dirt—unfit for consumption.

This is the same for a man living without God’s love in him. Because Christ is the source and fountain of life, our life as water becomes free of dirt only as far as we are connected to His constant flow. Anyone without God’s love is already condemned and such is subjected to the peril and doom of hell at last.

God’s love flowing in and through us keeps us refreshed and from accumulating contamination that would pose harm to us.

Charge: God’s love keeps us from accumulating dirt and contaminations. Abide in it.

Stay in love with God.
