“So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.”
Matthew 20:16
People do say, “Be security conscious but I’ll encourage you to be “eternity conscious.” Today’s scripture sheds light on some divine strategies every believer can employ to be amongst the few chosen by God.
Wisdom is a divine strategy illustrated in the parable of the ten virgins, which showed that they started in large numbers but only a few of them gained entrance because they had divine wisdom. “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding,” Proverbs 4:7.
Endurance is also a divine strategy as revealed in God’s word which says, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved,” Matthew 24:13. Since Jesus endured the cross, we can also endure the anguish till the end, if we fix our gaze on Jesus Christ who is the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Finally, being “watchful and prayerful” are divine strategies every believer can work with to secure a glorious entrance into eternity with God. “Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is,” Mark 13:33. May the Lord increase us in faith as we prepare for eternity in Jesus’ name. Amen.
