“Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”

 Jonah 1:17

“Does God leave me or look away from me when I disobey Him?” Have you ever wondered about the answer to this question?

In our passage, despite Jonah’s disobedience to God’s command, God didn’t leave him to perish. He gave him the opportunity to repent from his sins by preserving him in a fish’s belly.

In other words, God does not leave or give up on you, dear one. Instead, He patiently waits and intentionally orchestrates ways for you to return to His love. He keeps His eyes fixed on you because your death as a sinner is the last thing He desires. God’s plan for you is that you do not perish.

Even in the bad times, He is waiting for you with arms wide open. Look around you, those situations you’re going through might just be God’s way of preserving you from perishing or totally going astray.

Perhaps, you’ve failed God and you feel He has forsaken you, God is still concerned and intentional about you. Just like Jonah; like the prodigal son, He is waiting for you. Come home, child!

Further Day: Ephesians 1:1-9, Luke 15; Jonah 1.

Thought for the day: God is still concerned and intentional about you. Return to Him today.

Stay blessed.
