“Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly.”

Jonah 2:1

The mercy of God: one of the biggest and most incomprehensible gifts we have been privileged to receive.

The most amazing thing about it is that you can do nothing to deserve it (Romans 9:16). God’s mercy can find you whether you’re broken, rejected, insecure, in a place where nothing matters, or even if you feel like you’re the worst person on earth. His mercy can find you.

In the case of Jonah, even though he was suffering as a result of his disobedience, that didn’t make God forsake him. His mercy still spoke. Apostle Paul once persecuted Christ, yet the mercy of God located him even while he was on his way to commit more atrocities. What about the thief on the right hand, mercy found him.

So, if you’re hesitant because you feel unworthy, remember we are all unworthy, but the mercy of God found and still finds us.

God’s mercy is the reason we were found and saved from the wicked hands of death. No one did anything to deserve what they have found in Christ. So, dear Christian come BOLDLY to the throne of grace, and obtain mercy.

Further Study: 2 Peter 3:9.

Take Action: In sobriety, go on your knees and ask God for mercy. May the Lord show us mercy, and may we be willing recipients of His Mercy. Amen.

Stay blessed.
