“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Psalm 37:4.

What does it mean to delight yourself in the Lord? Scripture gives us the answers in Hebrews 11:6, where we see that it is impossible to please God without faith and in John 14:15, we learn that if we show that we truly love Him, we must obey His commandments.

So, to delight the Lord is to do the things that matter in His sight. Things like faith and obedience. It is also resting in Him. Jesus asks that we drop the burden of this world, and take up His yoke, and He tells us that it is easy.

Therefore delighting in the Lord is a state that ensures that your gaze is always upon Him. As we delight in Him, the desire in our hearts becomes everything He wants to give unto us. The Lord is searching for seekers who delight in Him and whose desires He will meet. Are you one already?

Charge: Delight in the Lord.
