“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

1 Corinthians 6:20.

When you hear the phrase “You have been bought with a price.” What comes to your mind? Do you assume that since it is God who has bought you, then it is only your Spirit that belongs to Him? This is not so, because the entirety of our being belongs to God.

There can be nothing like “I serve God in my heart,” when the way you carry yourself does not reflect this. We are called to glorify God in our bodies, our minds, and our spirits. Glorifying God must start with a realisation that you are a living sacrifice, therefore everything you do must be done with the intent of obedience towards the One you call Lord.

Glorifying God in your bodies means that you understand that your vessel can no longer be used to service the things of this world. For example, how can your body be dressed in a way that incites lust when you are to glorify only God in your body? How can your manner of presentation be rough and unkept when you are to glorify God? How can a body that is to glorify God be used to dance to worldly tunes and rhythms? These are things that should not be when we understand who we are.

Charge: Glorify God in your body by obeying His commands.
