“The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.”
Romans 13:12.
The Scripture for today speaks about the urgency of every believer to take up weapons for fighting in the dark. As children of God, we should not be afraid to disrupt what is wrong and restore what is right.
In times like this, we cannot choose to accommodate any works of darkness or ignore the deeds of evil within or around us. The King’s business requires haste—God’s call in the form of assignment or purpose fulfilment for our lives should be attended to with urgency. We should not settle for anything less but seek to do God’s will of illuminating the world with the light of Christ.
As soldiers of Christ, we should consistently wield our weapons of light to overcome darkness. When we put on the armour of light, our light shines and prevails over darkness. This year, we are encouraged to remove anything that hinders our worship and return to a heart of prayer. We actively build, use and control our weapons in the place of worship, word study and prayer.
Charge: Receive the boldness to stand up for righteousness, light and truth this season.
