“Delight thyself also in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Psalm 37:4

There’s an assurance that we will get what we want when we do what the Lord wants. It is God’s desire to make us happy, but He also wants us to delight in Him. God can grant us the desires of our heart but beyond that, He wants us to seek Him and prioritize fellowship with Him consistently.

Beloved, can our words, works and thoughts be presented to God as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto Him? Does our heart align with the will of God? Have we been faithful in communing with God? We can only get the answers to the secret petitions of our hearts if we keep company with God.

Those long list of prayer requests over the years cannot be compared to hearing God speak while we listen to Him. Sometimes, God uses our wants to draw us closer to Him; the reason He patiently builds us while we wait on Him for answers to our prayers. God is more interested in our relationship with Him. May God help us to love Him wholeheartedly. Amen.

Confession: Today, I choose to take delight in the Lord.
