“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

Galatians 5:16

Walking in the Spirit is a deliberate posture of the heart and mind. It is a daily invitation to surrender our will to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and to be led by His wisdom and discernment.

As we walk in the Spirit, our lives become a reflection of the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We find ourselves aligning with God’s heart and purpose, and our actions and attitudes begin to mirror the character of Christ.

Walking in the Spirit is a derivative of intimacy and a constant posture of our openness to His leading. It means seeking His presence through prayer, studying His Word, and being attentive to His voice in our daily walk. When we walk in the Spirit, we learn to rely on His strength rather than ours, and find comfort in our circumstances. Walking in the Spirit also means trusting in God’s perfect timing and direction, even when it may not align with our understanding.

Charge: Today, choose to walk in the Spirit, yielding to His leading and transformative power.

Further Study: Romans 8:12-14.

Stay blessed, dear.
