“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”

Romans 1:21,25

If you were to behold a piece of art, there’s a possibility that you would be so consumed by the beauty that you would think of making it yours. But before doing that, you would first look by the side of the piece of art to check who the artist is. Because, what’s going through your mind would be, “Oh! How talented he/she must be to have created this?”

This is in fact how we respond to artists, musicians, inventors, etc. Every encounter with their creations makes you think, “Who could have done something as beautiful as this? How is it different from God? How is it that when we encounter the creation of the universe — nature, the seas, even the people — how is it that we do not say, “How mighty our God must be!”

Why have we let ourselves become so enraptured by God’s creations, that we let them cause us to forget the CREATOR? It is an anomaly, because the creation should lead you to the creator.

Charge: Do not be rebellious.
