“I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.”

Psalm 119:99

To see God more clearly, you must learn to focus your heart on Him—that’s what it means to meditate. Meditation involves focusing on God, His person, the testimonies He has wrought in your life and the lives of others, and His Word. Scripture already establishes that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and that the road to understanding comes from the knowledge of the Holy One (Proverbs 9:10).

Therefore, it is essential to meditate on the person of Christ, as this is the path to understanding. Do you know that there is a place in meditation where you begin to grasp what God is doing in your life, at least to an extent? This understanding helps you stand firm in His promises without worrying.

Imagine fully grasping that God’s plans for you are always good, never evil. Not just knowing, but truly understanding this truth. Such understanding takes away the fear of tomorrow because you comprehend that God only blesses, and nothing placed in His hands will ever fail.

Charge: Meditate on the Lord. Think about His ways. Repeat His words under your breath. Set your heart on things above. You will see that light begins to come.
