ONLY BECAUSE GOD WILLS

“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.”

James 4:14-15

How do we respond to upcoming events as believers? As believers, our response should be if the Lord wills or by God’s grace.

Since we are limited as humans compared to the unlimited God who directs the affairs of the world system, we are expected to live every day of our lives in reverence to God who determines and decides the next happenings in the universe. We cannot give a surety of our lives for the next second or tomorrow, so our response to life activities should be as the Lord wills.

Apostle Paul acknowledged God as the owner of his life’s achievements when he said, “But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.” Acts 18:21.

May the Lord help us to be conscious of His will in all areas of life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
