“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils”.
1 Timothy 4:1
The first three chapters of the book of Revelation repeatedly mention this phrase, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches”. This shows the importance of the Spirits’ response and reactions towards crucial matters as recorded in the scriptures.
The scripture of today emphasizes how the Spirit of God speaks expressly of a particular time to come and the need for believers to be consciously aware of the impending doom. Jesus also mentioned in the book of Luke 18:8, “Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”
A particular time will come that no man knows but it has been predicted by God’s word. This time is upon us already and the scripture today reveals to us a vivid description of these perilous times. We are expected as believers to build up ourselves in the most holy faith against seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.
May we not depart from the faith, or give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils in Jesus’ name (Amen).
