“Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.“
Philippians 2:16
When we talk about holding on, it means to firmly grasp and maintain. The Apostle Paul encouraged the church to be diligent, hold on wisely, and remain committed to the word of life, which is the truth of the gospel they have received.
As believers today, it is essential for us to cling to the faith we have received, regardless of the challenges in the world. There are various pressures in life that can easily distract and lead us astray, such as work pressures, peer influence, and societal expectations.
We live in a world where abnormal things are considered normal, and normal things are often disregarded and called abnormal. However, we must not lose sight of Christ amidst all these distractions.
This is a reminder for us to hold on to our faith, no matter the circumstances. We should stand firm in the faith we have been called to.
Remember, we are in the world but not of the world. He that loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. Since we are born of Christ and redeemed by Him, carrying His nature within us, the pressures of the world should not shake us. Our focus daily should be in Christ Jesus and our lives should reflect the nature we carry. We should be good ambassadors for Him.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I surrender myself to You and declare that I will always hold on to You, regardless of what the world promotes. My life will always belong to You. Amen.
