“Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing.”

Psalms 34:10

Sometime last year, I battled with some health complications. And that phase of my life was unpleasant because I had so many thoughts gushing down my mind. I started praying against death amidst other prayers. The first time I noticed something, I felt it was a minor thing that would go soon. To my dismay, I had to start frequenting the hospital, leaving home as early as 6:30 am.

During that period, different dark thoughts clouded my heart as I prayed to God. Although I knew that God would not let me go through any trial that was above me, I was still unsettled. But my husband, on the other hand, was just as peaceful as a dove. He supported me throughout those periods but never allowed fear, even in unpleasant situations. That is how much he has grown to trust God.

Trusting in God is just like trusting in the one whom you love. If you don’t trust the person you love, your relationship with that person can’t last. There’s no point in following someone you don’t trust.

When the 3 Hebrews were thrown into the fiery furnace, they weren’t afraid because they trusted that God would come through for them. Indeed, God came through for them, and the king proclaimed the glory of God throughout the nation. “Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.” Dan 3:28.

You should trust God to fight for you in the face of opposition. David trusted God to kill Goliath, and God didn’t fail. Hannah trusted God for a child, and He answered her. Moses trusted God to help him lead the Israelites, even across the Red Sea, and God showed up for them. So, what are you trusting God for today?

In whatever you’re going through today, know that God is expecting you to trust Him in that process you are. He knows why you’re going through that process, and the best you can do for yourself is to put your trust in Him. In that your waiting period, God is helping you build some capacity needed for the future, so why not believe that you are not just wasting your time. Be joyous even in that state because God is moulding you into shape. Believe that He can cure you of that sickness doctor declared terminal. God is not a wicked

Prayer

My Father in heaven, I have come before our throne of mercy today. I seek your mercy; please forgive me for not trusting you wholly. Forgive my doubting heart. I ask for the grace to keep trusting you. I leave my life in your hands, take charge; for I know that “Those who know your name trust you because you have not abandoned any who seek you, Lord.” PSALM 9:10. Thank you for accepting me again. I love you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray.

We use this opportunity to ask you to surrender your heart to Jesus. Depart from your sinful ways and embrace the love of Christ. May God be with you. Amen.
