“The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.”
Deuteronomy 18:15
Look around you. Listen, and you will realise that there are many voices. There is a quiet danger in living by many voices. Opinions multiply, counsel contradicts counsel, and even sincere hearts can wander when direction is drawn from human wisdom alone. In the midst of such confusion, God did not leave His people to guess His will. He promised a Leader, a Voice, a Prophet who would speak truth without mixture.
In our opening passage, Moses, speaking by divine foresight, pointed beyond himself to One greater—Christ Jesus. This Prophet would not merely advise; He would lead. Not into opinion, not into tradition, but into truth. And the instruction was clear: “Unto him ye shall hearken.” Truth is not found by loudness or popularity, but by obedience to the Voice God has appointed.
To be led in truth is to submit our hearing. Many want guidance, but few want government. Yet truth only leads those who are willing to follow. The Lord leads not by coercion, but by revelation. He opens the path, speaks the word, and waits for the yielded heart.
Charge: If you feel uncertain, pause and listen. God is still faithful to His word. He still raises His voice above the noise.
