“In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.”

Titus 2:7-8

A thorough study of the Israelites shows that they experienced the good works of God through their journey to the promised land. From the time of creation, we are familiar with God’s acts of goodness even up till this present moment. God has been so good to us, and He will always show up in that pattern.

However, do we behave like Him in this regard? Beloved, we are expected to show ourselves as examples of good works being God’s representative on earth. Even if there is no validation from people, our lifestyle should portray sincere goodness, nonetheless. Do we measure up to God’s standard of good will?

Brethren, in your teaching, show integrity, seriousness, incorruptibility, and soundness of speech that can’t be condemned; that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about you. Let’s endeavour to model our lives according to the pattern of Christ. May the Lord help us to live a life worthy of God’s calling in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Confession: Lord, help me to live a patterned life of good works.
