“I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”

1 Timothy 2:8

As believers, p
rayer is not an option but an obligation. Prayer is a means of communicating with God. Prayers should be made with a pure heart for our God is holy and just.

So many dark and shady things happen outside Christ. Some people complain of not receiving answers to their prayers, yet they render prayers in unrighteousness, and this type of prayers sin will not be answered.

Moreover, holy hands in our today’s bible passage  doesn’t stand for a clean and germless hands, but it signifies a righteous and holy living. We can’t make supplications in sin. Truly grace covers all, “but shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God Forbid! How can we who are dead to sin live any longer therein?”

Another thing that can stand as an hindrance to our prayers is doubt. God is capable of doing all things; therefore, after laying down our request, we should believe that God will do it and not allow doubt in our heart. As believers, we should strive to be like Jesus in our day-to-day activities, living a holy life and having total faith in God.
