“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”

1 John 3:9

Something happened to you at the cross. It was so huge that it had the capacity to make you the son of God. (John 1:12). Something changed. You were given a new life and a new Spirit. You were given the power to sin no more.

The blood and sacrifice of Jesus is no ordinary thing. It is a price that bought our redemption and freedom. In the moment we accepted it, we ceased to be slaves to sin. Sin lost its hold on us completely.

However, it is now common among Christians in a bid to be “humble” to say that they are sinners. You are not a sinner, dear Christian. You are a child of God. If you still find yourself sinning, then you have to understand that there is power at the cross to overcome that sin, and as a child of God, you have a right to that power.

If you understand this, stand on this ground and insist on your freedom, and see if that sin remains. Do not accept the tag of sinner, instead seek to show forth your tag as a child of God.

Thought for the day: You are a child of God. Live as one.

Stay blessed.
