“And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

Luke 1:45

In the times of old, God visited Abraham and told him he would be the father of many nations. Now, it’s fine to believe a promise as marvelous as this one, except he was over a 100 years and didn’t have one child. Yet, God wasn’t promising him just one child, He was promising him nations. How?

However, Abraham believed God’s word in reckless abandonment.

How about the woman with the issue of blood? She had seen Jesus heal people by praying for them, but the multitude was so great that she knew she might not get healed the normal way. Guess what she did? She decided in her heart that if she could just touch the hem of his garment, she would be whole. And it was so according to her faith. Same was it with the story of Elizabeth and Mary in our passage.

Dear Believer, God is worth believing. And the fact that you can let go of what’s normal and sensible and put all your trust in Him is one of the biggest blessings. Don’t let circumstances ever let you walk away from the privilege of your faith.

Thought for the day: Be not afraid, only believe. The “how shall these things be” is for your heavenly Father to determine.

Stay blessed.
