“And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.”
Luke14:17
In the passage above, Jesus shares a story about a man who prepared a grand meal for important guests, yet they made excuses and declined the invitation. So, the man invited the needy and underprivileged to join him, and they happily accepted.
This story mirrors what Jesus has done for us. He has prepared a place for you and me. How sad it would be if, after everything is readied for us, we refuse to answer the call. Today, aren’t we making excuses to avoid the call? Some will say they will enjoy now and repent later.
In John 14, Jesus informed His disciples about all that was being prepared for them, saying they already knew the way. Thomas was puzzled by this, but Jesus clarified, “I am the way, the truth, the life…”
As Christians, this signifies that everything we need is ready in Jesus. He embodies grace, providing all we require to live righteously, please the Father, and enter the place He prepared for us.
The question is: Will you embrace this gift and use it, or will you continue as though nothing has been done to save you? Will you acknowledge God’s grace or ignore His efforts? Reflect on these questions.
