THE GOD THAT GIVES

“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?“

Romans 8:32

I wonder if we truly understand the willingness with which God is ready to provide for us. I wonder if we understand that He is not willing to see you without—He does not want us to lack. Such is the Father’s nature towards His children.

The life we live today under His Grace was preceded by His giving. So, we must never assume or settle for less when it comes to receiving from God. We must never fall into the pit of assuming that a particular state of suffering must be God’s will. God wants us to prosper and has given all that we need to do that. The present may not just be the right time.

Of course, He won’t give us something that might hurt us or whatever we’re not ready for. But I pray we remain open to receive what does not look like what we asked for but is everything we need.

Prayer

1. Lord help me to understand how much you want to bless me.
2. Lord, make me a blessing and a giver wherever I step.
3. Lord, please help us do away with the mentality of giving only because we want to receive.
