“The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.”
Psalms 16:6
What are the things you say to yourself? I mean, the things you confess, whether good or bad or just okay. Do you know it is the things you declare and accept that eventually form the foundations of your realities? Your words frame your world. It is why we must never give in to the temptation to say bad things or things that do not align with the Scripture to ourselves.
We are whom God says we are, no matter what our circumstance dictates. But it is not enough to know; we must confess it. The things God has said concerning us and His promises do not change with circumstances, so why should our confessions change?
Make it a point to never agree with negativity or confess undesirable things about yourself. Instead, shun the devil and his vices with the power of your tongue, and exercise that power to speak the things you desire to see.
1Pet. 3:10 says, “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.”
Prayer
- Dear Father, I ask that you sanctify my tongue today. Please help me not to accept or say anything contrary to your word over me.
- Lord, please help me study your word and give me the spirit of understanding so I might know and confess the things you have made my heritage.
- please wash away every negative word I have confessed to my life.
