“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
This is a very familiar verse. Almost too familiar because we’ve gotten so used to it that we neglect to ponder the vastness of God’s love for us. God loves us so much that He gave His begotten Son so we would not perish. It’s so easy to fail to comprehend just how big a sacrifice the death of Jesus on the cross was. Luke 22:42 & 44 says, “…Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And being in agony, he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”
Jesus went through death in its worse definition. For a moment, He was away from the presence of God. He had to bear all the consequences of sin to its fullest just so you and I could have a choice. The love in His heart was the basis of this sacrifice. Therefore, I want you to remember this vast love the Lord has for us the next time you feel alone or unlucky. God is right there with you; the love He has for you gives Him an investment in ensuring all things work together for your good.
He will neither leave nor forsake you. He loves you so much more than you can comprehend. He’s a good Father. Everything that touches your heart touches His; for we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities—Heb. 4:15.
When life seems complicated, constantly reassure yourself that God loves and cherishes you; you are so important to God. Here is a confirmation that the Lord loves you: “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” Isaiah 43:2. May you live every day basking in that knowledge. I pray you never let the devil’s lies or temporary situations shift you from the reality of God’s love for you. God bless you.
