“…And the priest shall make an atonement for him for his sin which he hath sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.”

Leviticus 5:10b

If you hear about Jesus, what comes to your mind? Well, of course, our responses may differ, and that can be a result of our understanding and encounter with Him. However, an essential foundation for every believer is the concept of “Salvation and Redemption,” attributes that no one can disregard.

The offering of Jesus as an atonement for sin has granted all men access to God, putting an end to the sacrifice of rams and bulls, as well as taking away the hindrances in approaching God by oneself, in the place of priests alone—the Levites. The gift of Jesus has qualified all men to individually offer an acceptable oblation of worship and praise without cutting corners, like paying pastors and prophets to fit into God’s plan, and offering sacrifices and paying homage, casting lots on altars to earn God’s love.

We need a seeing eye to see through the finished work brought by the crucifixion of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Without knowing the worth of Who we have as an advocate, we’re likely to seek falsehood. The Scripture establishes in the book of John 14:6 “That Jesus is the only true way to God.” Do not take this gift for granted. Appreciate it.

Charge: Jesus is more than enough! Appreciate this gift.
