“Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.”

Nahum 3:5

The silence of God is oftentimes mistaken for folly; unknown to many that there’s a measure apportioned to every act of disobedience. We only escape because the measure is yet to be full. Consider a child who does something wrong despite being sternly warned by their parent. When confronted, the child may think they are clever and right until they find themselves in a difficult situation. In this moment of trouble, the child cries out for help, and the pain they experience teaches them the lesson they previously ignored.

The Scripture, in the book of Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord…” made us realise that no one who trespasses and commits the sin of rebelliousness shall go unpunished, except for those who genuinely seek repentance—shall have life.

To repent is not only to cast off our garments (sinful nature) by showing remorse, but also to turn away from every life of ungodliness and embrace the truth. God does not want any man to perish; however, for anyone who would not return, consequences lie at his door already.

Charge: Retrace your steps back to God now! Tomorrow will be too late.
