“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us.”

If we want to consistently ask the Lord in alignment with His will for us, then we need to know God’s will for our lives before proceeding to ask Him in prayers. As a believer, you can know God’s will for your life by giving yourself to the study of God’s word—the written word of God (ever living and true). In the book of Joshua 1:8, we read the instructions of God for us to study and meditate on His word day and night. It is in God’s word we know His will for us, and this helps us pray right, which in return gives us good success.
Secondly, you need to submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit by hearing and obeying His voice. In the book of 1 Corinthians 2:10, we read that no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. If you want to know the deep secrets of God, then trust the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
Finally, you need to avoid conforming to the things of this world and spend time in God’s presence for the renewal and transformation of your mind.
Charge: Go to God in prayer and be confident that He hears you because before you call, He has answered, and while you are still speaking, He will hear.
