“He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.”

Matthew 19:8

From the very start, marriage was never man’s idea. God’s idea was for marriage be a covenant, not a contract. It is meant to give expression to certain dimensions of God’s love, grace, and unity. When two become one, it’s not merely a union of bodies but of purpose, spirit, and destiny that transcends beyond emotions and seasons.

God’s original design for marriage is pure and perfect. Divorce was only allowed later because of the hardness of human’s heart, not because God changed His mind. Today, many people have redefine marriage based on culture or convenience, and while challenges are real, God’s Word remains timeless and is still the best blueprint for joy, growth, and fulfilment in your marriage.

Are you married or hoping to be? Trust in God’s pattern. Pray together, forgive quickly, love sacrificially, make the word of God your template, and see your marriage be a testimony of God’s perfect plan in action.

Charge: God’s intention for marriage is pure and bliss. Ask Him for the blueprint if you are yet to get into one, and if you are already in one, ask Him to help your marriage fulfil His purpose.
