“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.”

Proverbs 21:2

Many people focus on their outward appearance, striving to impress others with good deeds, eloquent speech, or religious acts. However, God does not judge as man does. While people see the surface, God looks at the heart.

Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for their hypocrisy, calling them “Whitewashed tombs”—beautiful on the outside but full of dead men’s bones (Matthew 23:27). They appeared righteous, yet their hearts were far from God. True integrity means being the same person in secret as you are in public.

Are your thoughts pure when no one is watching? Do you honour God with your heart, or just with your lips? The Lord weighs motives, not just actions. He desires truth in the inward parts (Psalm 51:6). If you struggle with inconsistency, ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart. Confess and forsake every form of pretence. True transformation starts from within and manifests outwardly. Let your heart align with your confession of faith, for a life of genuine righteousness brings God’s favour.

Charge: Strive for integrity in every area of your life, knowing that God sees beyond appearances.
