“Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.”

Isaiah 49:4

We have been called co-labourers with God in His vineyard, but it is not a calling for us to labour in vain as heirs of His promises. Most times when we give ourselves to the work of ministry, serving faithfully and wholeheartedly, it appears that we begin to view our work as being useless or hopeless. We might feel like our work and strength have accomplished nothing or there’s nothing to show for a life of hard work.

We sometimes feel completely worn out thinking we laboured without purpose or wasted time in empty futility. Irrespective of this feeling about our work for God, it is the Word of God that judges our works, and our reward is with Him. We can always trust the Lord for our reward and His ability to ĺqdefend our cause.

Conclusively, let us stand our ground and not hold back while we throw ourselves into the work of God, confident that there’s nothing that we do that is a waste of time or effort. May the Lord continue to strengthen us as we enthusiastically work for Him. Amen.

Charge: No labour ever genuinely done for God or in His vineyard goes in vain. He always rewards those who serve Him with all their hearts.
