“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.”

Luke 6:38

Generosity is an identifying characteristic and habit of God that shows how much He loves us. As God’s replica on earth, we are expected to cultivate this habit by giving willingly and not grudgingly.

Generosity is an act of giving, and it is not limited to finance but also includes sharing valuable advice, being of help, especially in times of need, and spending quality time with people. The list is endless, but we should be aware that the way we treat others in the area of giving is the way we will be treated. Giving precedes receiving and should not be seen as a tactic to have more but a Biblical truth to  give in all aspects of life.

God’s love for us made Him give out His only Son as a sacrifice to die for the sins of the world, and in turn, He eventually gained souls all over the earth who are also winning more souls for the kingdom. Giving can also be likened to sowing and can yield bountifully when it is done consistently in love. Giving is also a sacrificial act of love expressed to God and people.

Charge: The reward of generosity is generosity, so, give happily.
