“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua 1:9.
Do you know the word “Fear not” appears exactly 365 times in the Bible? This means God speaks to our hearts, “Fear not” every day all year round. That’s how mindful God is about you and me.
Joshua was timid about whether or not he’d make a successful leader but the very moment God sensed his fear, it was addressed with a reassurance of His immutable presence that echoed throughout his lifetime. It’d be to Joshua a source of strength every time he was down.
What does it feel like to have the word of your father saying to send you certain provisions or money at school? I’m certain it comes with so much confidence and expectations, knowing who has spoken. How much more God who’s greater than our earthly father and mother? And now, this promise of God’s presence isn’t only made to Joshua but to all who are God’s children, who continually serve Him all their lives.
Charge: The Lord’s presence always takes away fear, so fear not!
