“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

Proverbs 18:21

As a believer, you should know that the words you speak are Spirit and Life. Can a fountain bring forth sweet and bitter at the same time? No, right? There is power in the tongue, and people ignorantly use it to bless and curse. The Scripture corrected us that it is not right to use our tongue for two opposing purposes—to praise God and also curse those created in His image.

We can tame the tongue by controlling the words we speak to ourselves and others. As children of God, we should speak words seasoned with grace, truth, life, and faith to everyone around us. We should let our conversation with God and others be spirit-conscious to enhance consistent growth.

Whenever we speak good, kind and encouraging words to ourselves and other people, it gladdens our hearts. Those who choose to bless receive blessings in return, while those who choose to curse will receive what in return? Yes, you guessed right! May we choose to speak words of grace all the days of our lives in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Charge: This year, we should be conscious of what we say to ourselves and other people.
