“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
James 1:5.
What is Wisdom? It is the ability to apply relevant knowledge insightfully, especially to different situations from that which the knowledge was gained. A theology definition describes wisdom as, “The ability to know and apply spiritual truths.”
We thank the Lord for the knowledge gained and gathered in the past years. Beloved, we need to seek God’s wisdom to journey successfully through this new year. It is a good thing that we have relevant knowledge and understanding about a matter or situation, but it is better to be wise in applying the knowledge to prevent avoidable casualties. We should desire God’s wisdom to navigate our paths to greatness with ease.
The scripture mentioned that we should be as gentle as doves but as ‘wise’ as serpents. We also read in the Scripture that Jesus increased in wisdom. Should we desire less? I believe our response is a ‘No’. Wisdom cannot be neglected as we start this new year and desire excellence in every area of our lives. May our generous Lord graciously give us wisdom to excel this new year, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Confession: I’m blessed with wisdom, knowledge and understanding this new season, in Jesus’ name.
