“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
1 Corinthians 4:2
In the scriptures, good servants are expected to meet up with the requirements of reliability and accurate knowledge. The question is “Are you reliable?”Today’s word expresses the need to meet up with the expectations of God as a steward or manager in any related field of purpose by being faithful and worthy of trust.
For instance, if you notice any act of disloyalty in an organization you patronize regularly, especially from the manager, you shouldn’t continue transactions with them. This means that our thoughts align with the fact that it is expected of us to prove ourselves to God and people as trustworthy stewards. We cannot be hypocritical about our lifestyles. Our lives must worship and give glory to God whenever we are in His presence or the midst of people.
A quick comparison between the stewardship of Elisha to Elijah and Gehazi to Elisha shows that Elisha proved to be worthy of trust, and he received a double portion of his master’s anointing; while Gehazi was found unfaithful and received leprosy. May we be found faithful as stewards of righteousness unto the Lord. Amen.
Confession: Lord, help me to be faithful and worthy of trust.
