“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
A heart that loves always seeks ways to bless, and God proved this by giving His Son for our sins so that we might approach His throne of grace boldly, clothed in righteousness. The next time you doubt if God loves you, think of Jesus on the cross. Consider how God—after seeing His people repeatedly sin despite all He had done for them—still made a way for them to come to Him without guilt.
As humans, it would be hard to imagine rescuing someone who continuously hurts us from shame and guilt. But this is only a glimpse of what God did. To secure righteousness for you and me, He gave up His glory, became human, and bore the punishment for sins He never committed.
Oh, what an immeasurable love He lavished! Dear Christian, never take God’s gift of love for granted, and never lose your awe of the sacrifice and the blood shed at the cross.
Charge: God loves you more than you can ever imagine.
