“For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.”
2 Corinthians 1:12
There is never a time when God is impressed with what you believe you achieved by your strength alone. There’s only one thing that catches His attention, and that is Jesus—the Grace of God personified. Dear Christian, strive for a life that is so rooted in Christ that every fruit that comes forth has Christ all over it. Let your testimony always be ‘only by the Grace of God’.
As much as it makes the flesh happy to achieve things by itself, the sad news is that nothing that comes from the flesh has eternal value—not even the seemingly good things. For example, it is very possible to be so motivational and encouraging to someone that you stop them from taking their lives, and that seems like such a good thing until you realise that you cannot cure the void and despair in their hearts only with those encouraging words.
Only Jesus can do that. Let your testimony be that you led men to Jesus—whether you are a doctor or banker or speaker—let it always be that you led men to take a hold of the Grace of God.
