“Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.”
John 11:5
Do you know and believe that Jesus loves you? Knowing that Jesus loves you is a notable phrase repeated all the time, but believing that He loves you depicts a deeper meaning. It shows a sound understanding of Jesus’ unfailing love.
Jesus’ love towards us does not depend on our efforts to love Him — He loves us even when we don’t respond in love. “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8. God’s love is kind, patient, it feels our heart with so much peace and joy. When we begin to profess our love for Jesus, we should know that He loved us first. “We love Him, because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19.
Dearly beloved, Jesus’ love for us is not limited to earthly standards — it’s eternal, endless, and endures forever. “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee,” Jeremiah 31:3. May the Lord remind us at all times of His unending love for us in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Charge: Jesus’ love is immeasurable —your existence is a proof of His love.
