“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
John 15:16
John 15:16, like other verses that preceded it, emphasizes the fact that our Heavenly Father is very interested that we bear fruits, and indeed much fruit.
Why is God interested in much fruit? The extent to which our lives bear fruit is the extent to which men glorify our God. We should therefore remember that our lives are not ours, we have been chosen, ordained, and also sent into the world to bring harvest to the Kingdom of God.
And while we are at it, let us trust God to supply grace in ensuring that our fruits abide forever in Christ. In this will our Father give unto us everything that is required and needed in addition to the kingdom, knowing that whatever we ask of Him will be used in the appropriately to glorify His name.
