“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”
Revelation 22:12
The scripture for today complements God’s Word which says, “But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.” 2 Thessalonians 3:13. We are encouraged to remain steadfast in our works because we know that God who sees us in the secret will reward us openly.
God gave His best to us; He still does and will continue to do awesome works in our lives. In return for God’s love towards us, we do His works by being diligent, committed, and dedicated to pleasing God. Wherever we find ourselves, we have been positioned by God to bring glory, honour, and power to His name through our works.
For every duty the Lord has assigned to us, we should ensure to give it our best as we expect God’s heavenly reward. God will certainly reward everyone according to their works, but that should not be the drive to do the work of God dutifully. Instead, we should be grateful to God for the privilege to be called His steward in the vineyard. May the Lord help us to do His work worthy of His great reward in Jesus’ name. Amen.
