BEING A SERVANT UNTO ALL

For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.”

1 Corinthians 9:19

Every child of God has been called into the ministry of service unto God and man. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, speaks to us through today’s scripture even as a biblical example to all believers. Paul gained freedom from men the day he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

As believers, we have chosen the paths of righteousness; therefore, we are free from the deceits of men because we know Jesus who is the truth.

What next after salvation? The call to service as a servant unto all; both to the believers and unbelievers. Jesus Christ ministered unto the saved and unsaved. God sends rain on the just and unjust. From this analysis, we can deduce that we have also been called “servants unto all”.

There’s no discrimination in the things about the Kingdom of God. Our lives should be channeled towards service at various levels and fields of life. When we give ourselves to serving God and humanity, we will realize that it’s more profitable to give than to receive.

May the Lord help us to be good and faithful servants in Jesus’ name. Amen.
