“Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.”
Nehemiah 5:11
There is something about the defenseless that touches God’s heart in a special way. There’s something about the poor, the needy, the fatherless, the widow, the ones in need of help that makes God arise to their defense.
He doesn’t take it lightly when these ones are dishonored. He expects us to be His hands in taking care of them and showing them love. He wants us to look at them through eyes of compassion like He does.
If, for any reason, even reasons you might find justifiable, you are oppressing the needy, God is commanding you to stop and RESTORE unto them what you have taken. Never be the one who takes 2 pence from the widow that has 3 pence to add to your million pence and say it’s just business.
Show Mercy. Show Grace. For it is the merciful that receives mercy. Never forget that “He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.” Proverbs 14:31

Thought for the day: Always think of how to give rather than how to take.
Stay blessed.
