THE PAIN OF PARENTHOOD

For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

 Ezekiel 18:32

Are you a parent? Then you probably understand that feeling of wanting to do everything possible to protect your child. You understand exactly what it means to bear the pain of others because if your child is going through anything, you’re right there suffering with them. And if you’re the child, you see the pain your parents go through when you are sick, being accused or persecuted.

God is just like this with us. He feels our pain and suffers when He sees where actions we take in rebellion will lead us. I remember how God explained how hurt He feels after warning us but  we do not heed, and then see some of us walking into hell. And because His face cannot behold sin, He does nothing when we refuse to change and are being dragged to hell.

But the incredible thing is how He forgives us, again and again because no parent would want to ever let go of their child no matter what? He is not willing that any should perish; hence, He tells us, CHOOSE LIFE.

Study: Deuteronomy 30

Action: Set aside time and meditate on the things God wants for you as His child and how He feels when you run from Him.
