A significant aspect of being a Christian involves having Christ’s essence within us, designating us as divine messengers on Earth. Although we claim to possess Christ’s essence, our persistent engagement in sin contradicts this assertion. Christ’s nature can never coexist with a life steeped in wrongdoing.
As stated in the verse, “Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” Believers, now liberated from sin, should not persist in it. We are called to abandon sin and anything resembling it.
Being representatives of God entails reflecting His qualities: His character and values. Hence, we carry the responsibility of accurately presenting God to others. Christ’s essence must be evident in us, defining our true identity as believers. May God help us as we diligently emulate Him in all aspects of our lives.
