“Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation. I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee”.
Daniel 5: 12–14
As we reflect on the story of Daniel and his exceptional qualities, we are reminded of the importance of having an excellent spirit. The king recognised that the spirit within Daniel was of divine origin, signifying a close relationship with God.
Beyond Daniel’s example, we too have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. The Holy Spirit is an excellent Spirit, and by embracing this truth, we can see more of our potential in this world and strive for greater achievements.
This season calls for us to do more for God, just as Daniel’s gifts spoke for him in his absence. He consecrated himself and built a strong union with the Holy Spirit, which enabled him to excel in all he did.
Likewise, we have the Holy Spirit available to us. Let us be intentional in building a deeper connection and communion with Him, for He is ready and able to empower us to become excellent individuals.
Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for the Holy Spirit alive inside of me. Please, grant me the grace to stand strong in you and to excel in all I do. May my life reflect the spirit of excellence, as I trust in you and commit my all to you. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
