KEEPING OUR FAITH IN HARD TIMES

“And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Matthew 8:26-27

“Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?” This question, posed by Jesus, resonates with many believers who find themselves struggling with fear, doubt, and trouble. Why do we allow our faith to waver? What hinders us from trusting completely in God?

In the passage above, Jesus was present with the disciples during a storm, yet they were gripped by fear and called out to Him in distress. However, Jesus, with a simple rebuke, calmed the winds and sea, bringing about calmness.

Like the disciples, we too face storms and turbulence in life, pressures that leave us panicked and confused. But such reactions are signs of “little faith.” Why should we be like this when Jesus is always with us? He stands beside us even in the toughest times, even in the depths of pain. We need not panic; we need not doubt.

If Jesus has the power to stop the storm, He can do anything for us. All we need to do is call on Him, and He will rise to rebuke the winds of life that come against us. He is the God to whom even the deepest things of the world obey. Let us believe in Him, call on Him, and find peace in His presence.

Prayer
