Jesus has taught us that we are the light of the world. However, many lights are not shining because we are still sleeping spiritually. As lights, we must awaken in order to shine. This is emphasised in Isaiah 60:1, which states, “Arise, shine; for thy light comes, and the glory of the LORD rises upon thee.” It is crucial for us to rise up from our slumber and allow our light to shine.
Wherever there is light, darkness cannot comprehend. Darkness cannot prevail where light is present, and darkness is not permitted to stay where light exists. Light doesn’t need to announce itself; it is inherently visible to everyone.
When our light begins to shine before others, they recognise it as the light of God, and they return the glory to God.
Do you desire to make Jesus proud? Do you want to shine the light of God for the world to see? Would you like people to glorify your Father who is in heaven? Then it is necessary for you to awaken from your spiritual slumber and let your light shine.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, empower me to shine as the light that You have made me. Every spirit of spiritual weakness in me, Father destroy them and set me free in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
