THE STRENGTH TO WAIT UPON GOD

“Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!”

Psalms 27:14 

There are many things you will never know about God if you do not learn how to wait upon Him.

Waiting upon the Lord might take many forms. It might mean staying in His presence for long periods and not going anywhere until He tells you to. It might also mean learning to wait patiently for His promise.

Many Christians are not very sure of God’s faithfulness because they gave up on Him. They decided to help God by cutting a few corners to get what they wanted, or they decided to settle for something less. Why? Because it seemed like God was taking too much time.

But the sad thing is when you fail to wait until God Himself says it is finished, you do not get to see the salvation He brings and you end up with the conclusion that God is not as faithful as we claim, or even with the erroneous belief that God must love some more than the others.

Dear Christian, the truth is, for every man you see that testifies of God’s goodness, it is because he waited on God till the end. He waited patiently and put his trust in God until the reality of His miracle was made manifest. And that’s why He can rejoice today. Don’t deprive yourself of God’s many blessings, dear Christian. Wait upon Him!

Prayer

1. I receive the strength to wait upon the Lord patiently and not be distracted in my waitingperiod.

2. Help me Lord to wait upon you and not be swayed by whatever people say. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
