I AM SORRY I MADE THEM

“So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.””

Genesis 6:7

When the sins of humanity became abundant in the sight of God, He was not pleased with the development, which made Him feel remorseful for creating man. “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.” (Genesis 6:5-6)

Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, the intentions of man’s heart have continually been evil. Despite God’s desire to destroy the earth, He provided a way of escape for those who would follow Him and change their ways. He instructed Noah to construct an ark big enough to accommodate anyone who was ready to follow but nobody apart from his family saw it fit to enter the ark with him. The ark could contain animals; how much more men? However, the hardness of the hearts of men prevented them from seeing the light.

This generation is like a repetition of the days of Noah. It is disheartening that we have been hearing about the second coming of Christ, yet our hearts have become more hardened to the truth because we feel the announcement was made many years ago, and it has not been fulfilled. We regard it as a lie, and we doubt that Jesus is coming.

The saddest part is when a Christian gives up their position as a child of God to join the bandwagon of worldly people. This break God’s heart a lot.

Today’s message is a reminder that Jesus is coming soon, and we need to turn our ways back to God. Our sins in this generation are greater than those of Sodom and Gomorrah. We have heard the gospel, yet we deny the power thereof. We have seen the power of God, we have our Bible and can read the truth, yet we choose to follow the path of perdition. “And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!” (Matthew 10:14-15)

Christians, rise up this day and do the work of the Father. Stop going back to the world. Stop comparing yourself to worldly people. Stop saying, “If she can do it, why can’t I?” You are different. You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood. You have been selected to shine as light in this world of darkness. A world where children no longer respect their parents, divorce is now the order of the day, a world where the true word of God is now condemned, and the devil is exalted. If sinners entice you, do not consent.

Stop making God feel bad that He created man in this world. He has sent His Son again, yet we have refused to welcome the gospel. We prefer to be more religious than spiritually connected to God. We choose false doctrines over the true precepts of God.

Wake up, dear beloved, and return to God, for the coming of the Lord is near. Repent and return. Shalom

Prayer

Father, Lord, help me to return to you. I have gone far into the world, please have mercy upon me and let me find my way back to you, oh Lord. Help me to do the work you have sent me and stop comparing myself with the people of the world. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
