STAY ON YOUR LANE

“Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God

1 Corinthians 1:1

Have you ever admired someone so much that the only thing on your mind is how to grow to be exactly like them? Your thought process might look like this: “If I can just replicate this, and be like this person, then I’d be satisfied with my life.”

Apart from the fact that it is hard to find satisfaction through replicating someone else’s life, we must also know that being like someone else is not God’s plan for us. Of course, it is so vital that we learn from others and submit to great men that have gone before us, even as they submit to God. But the truth is that God’s plan is to become who He has destined us to be. There’s a unique blueprint for your life that is unique to only you and will be dependent on your submission to the will of God through the Holy Spirit.

When you walk according to that blueprint, the Holy Spirit may lead you to men you are to humble yourself and submit to, but never mistake that for a call to replicate their lives. You were not made to be a copy of someone else. You were made to be you.

So, stay where God has called you to be. Dwell in fellowship with Him and ensure you are moving as He moves. It is in your call that the oil of grace is ever present. Always remember that God will not sponsor an assignment He did not initiate.

Remember, “…unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” Eph.4.7. So, if you’re struggling, you should check if you’re standing on the lane God has put you on.

Prayer

  1. Father, please help me not to be so caught up in how good it’s going for others that I begin to covet their blessings instead of the one you packaged explicitly for me.
  2. Dear Lord, if I have gone out of my lane in the journey of life and walked away from your specific call for my life, Lord, please, I ask that you lead me back.
  3. Lord Jesus, open my eyes to see that the plans you have for me are good, and even if they do not look like what I want or what I see others having, help me realise these are the best possible plans for me according to Your will for my life.

This is our message for today, and we hope you were blessed. We’d also love to hear from you; please comment below.
